Lancaster Kite and Music Festival

Join us for our first annual Kite & Music Festival in beautiful lancaster county, west Lampeter Township, Lancaster Pa. This is a family event! Bring your own kites, if you don’t have one we have 50 kites with line from one of our sponsors, Skydog Kites, we will be giving away free to those who don’t have one one per family. There will be five bands in the pavilion, food trucks, kite flying, professional Kite fliers demonstrating and teaching sport kites, and there will be inflatable displays and show kites in designated areas.

This event will take place at Village Park in West Lampeter Township on September 14th from noon to 6ish.
There will be live music, professional kite flyers, food and much more.

East Petersburg Carnival- family concert featuring SC & the Suitcase Musicians

East Petersburg Carnival

 

East Petersburg Day events kick off on Tuesday, September 11th, with our community carnival thru Sat 14th. On Saturday morning the East Petersburg Day 5K and Kids Fun Run will start the festivities and celebration of our community. This year is a back to the 80’s themed run that participants are encouraged to dress up, so break out the neon, big hair, parachute pants and leg warmers!

The annual East Petersburg Day Parade will follow the 5K at 10 am and lead families, friends and neighbors to East Petersburg Community Park for an amazing day filled with live music, jugglers, rides, games, and food!

This amazing week will come to a close Saturday night around 9:30pm with an amazing display of fireworks!

A whimsical and inspirational concert event for children and families.

A leading light in children and family music, Steven Courtney is virtually synonymous with a fun, upbeat and humorous style of song and storytelling. Born in Nashville, TN and raised on country, folk and gospel music, Steven initially launched his musical career performing covers of 60’s and 70’s folk rock tunes and performing original songs as well. Later his greatest success began when he directed his performances and recordings toward children and families in the early 90’s. In the ensuing decades, Steven Courtney would go on to perform 200 plus concerts a year as well as produce numerous award winning children and family albums and the award winning TV Series -The Steven Courtney Channel. All the while Steven Courtney has been an advocate of literacy, positive social behavior and family wellness.

In 1998 Steven expanded his popular one man show and began to perform more concerts with his band. Currently Steven Courtney & the Suitcase Musicians are finding new audiences everyday. Everywhere the band travels, people of all ages sing, clap and dance to the band’s infectious music. Performing concerts in state of the art auditoriums, run-down school gymnasiums, old-time churches, summer festivals and more the band always wins their audience.

Steven Courtney, whose music presently blends folk, blues, gospel, reggae, rock, Irish and calypso influences, has remained faithful to family friendly entertainment approach. Courtney’s songs inspire imagination and positive social behavior with a superabundance of creativity added. Throughout his career he has preferred to perform for smaller venues, 500 seats or less, that provide a more intimate concert experience for children and families.
